The Cydonic Royal Guard is tasked with the defense of the King’s person, the capitol, and the fiefs owned by the royal family. The force structure of the Guard is similar to that of the Cydonic Army, though the force tends to be smaller but better trained. The current guard was lead by the younger Cydonic prince, Steponas until his brother stripped him of command under suspicion that he was responsible for the death of their father.

Prince regent Tornas’ act forced all Royal Guardsmen to choose their loyalty between their new king and their commander. Many chose the latter, leading to the formation of the Holdout faction and the current civil war in Cydon.
